Certificate or Certification?
What’s the difference?
On the surface, they sound equivalent.
But they are very different!
Most course providers (including us) offer a certificate when you complete a program. The certificate is given as a recognition that you attended and participated in the program. But, and it’s a big but, it doesn’t say anything about competence.
If you’re using what you have learned on others, certification is essential!
It means that you’ve not only undergone the training, but that you’ve been tested against defined standards to ensure that you are fully competent to use these tools and methods properly.
And it offers you the credibility that your clients are looking for!
Many organizations mislabel a certificate as certification – mostly out of a lack of understanding of what certification really is. I have seen a “certification” program for tuning forks that requires as little as 3 hours training, with no requirement to even have used a tuning fork. And I have seen “Master Sound Healing” programs offered over 3 days.
There is no shortcut. Certification holds you to the highest standard. It is a process that guarantees that you are fully competent to use the tools and methods. And that you fully understand their proper use.
As a certified practitioner, regardless of your modality, you understand the value of certification. Those under your care deserve no less!
