Did you know . . .
The World Health Organization has called stress the “health epidemic of the 21st century.” And the U.S. Center for Disease Control has reported that more than half of all deaths, of those under 65, are because of stress.
Over ¼ of Canadian workers report their jobs as very stressful, and another ½ of Canadian workers report their job as somewhat stressful.
In Canada the annual cost of stress alone exceeds $15B, and is responsible for 75% of all disability claims. That’s about $3550 per employee, per year. And presenteeism (where a worker who is physically at work, but unable to contribute due to illness or stress) now exceeds $22B. – an additional $5200 annually.
