The Business of Business

Program Modules

Important Disclaimer: The curriculum listed below is typical of our workshops. However, the material covered varies with the dynamics of each group attending. In some cases, not all material is covered, and in others, we may go deeper into the content.

Module1

Finding Your Why!

This is THE most important question that you will ever ask as long as you own your business.

WHY?

Why are you (or why do you want to be) a holistic practitioner?

if you don’t have a powerful WHY, you will never be as successful as you would like.

Your WHY is your anchor. Running a business is not easy. There are challenging times.

This module will help you find your why. And you'll articulate it so that others will step up to help you succeed.

MODULE 2

Your Ideal Client

It's a simple concept that so many of us get wrong.

You can't market to everyone.

This may sound counter-intuitive, but in marketing, less is more. In order for someone to be attracted to your message, to your offer, they first have to recognize themselves as the person you are able to help.

To do that, you first have to identify who it is that your are ideally suited to support, so that you can direct your message to that person, and in turn to others like them.

MODULE 3

Your Roadmap

When heading off somewhere unknown, you always take a road map with you to ensure you get to your destination.

It's no different in business.

We will work through a rudimentary business plan, and a marketing plan - essential even for small businesses as this will become our business "roadmap".

Along with the map, we also need to set goals - short term that you can get started on right away, and medium and long term goals that may take longer to get started, and they take longer to implement, but they are just as important to your business.

MODULE 4

A Look at Financials

Most Practitioners Under-Value Themselves

Practitioners are givers. It's what makes you great at what you do.

Women are givers. And have been for countless millennia. Until recently, women have been the primary nurturer in the family.

Being a giver is fine, as long as you also receive. Often though, that's not the case. Often, practitioners under-value their services, and struggle as a result.

A business exists to generate revenue. And without revenue, you have a hobby.

In this module, we'll look at the cost for services, and at your total expenses, what you desire to make, and what you have to do to achieve that goal. We'll play around with the number of clients, and the price per session to come up with a strategy to create the income you're looking for.

You will also take home a Financial worksheet, which you can update as your business grows.

MODULE 5

Standing Out

How do you stand out?

There is a simple reality that if people can't find you, if they don't know you're there, than they can't work with you.

When that happens, you're not only doing a dis-service to yourself, but to those whom you are ideally suited to support.

Here's some of the topics we'll explore:

  • We'll look at how new clients can find you.
  • We'll look at creating an effective website - one that accurately conveys your message to your perfect client.
  • We'll look at social media - how to target your audience, without getting trapped in the pitfalls of social media - the things that can distract you for hours without any return.
  • We'll look at how you offer your products and services for maximum benefit for both you and your client.
  • And we'll look at keeping your clients - how to hold on to clients for life!

MODULE 6

Bringing it all Together

How do you stand out?

There is a simple reality that if people can't find you, if they don't know you're there, than they can't work with you.

When that happens, you're not only doing a dis-service to yourself, but to those whom you are ideally suited to support.

We'll look at how you can stand out, from web pages, to trade shows, to local advertising, to referral programs, to ...
