HEART/BRAIN COHERENCE

Coherence is a state or situation in which all the parts or ideas fit together well so that they form a united whole.

Coherence in a human being begins with the heart-brain connection. Not the brain-heart connection. The heart-brain connection.

Numerous recent studies in neuroscience and cardiac neuroscience have found that there is more information travelling from your heart to your brain than there is from the brain to your heart.

Heart/Brain Coherence Exercise

  1. Notice your breathing.
  2. Allow yourself to take deeper, slow breaths into the belly.
  3. As you inhale again, imagine that your nose is in front of your heart.
  4. Do this for 4 more breaths.
  5. As you continue breathing in and out of your heart, add a gentle hum for the next 4 or 6 breaths.
  6. Notice how you feel.
